HM83As promised in yesterday’s post, I’m featuring a couple of seating solutions I mentioned. First up is Hitch Mylius’ hm83.

Designed by Simon Pengelly the hm83 has proved to be very popular in public spaces. You’ll notice it in airports and the like, and I have installed in to schools! I’m actually installing this in to a school in Surrey during November, I’ll get some pictures!

It’s fundamentally a bench which can be used as stand-alone feature or linked together to form molecular, geometric arrangements. It looks cool.

It is constructed in pre-formed plywood on a steel under frame with stainless steel legs, and upholstered in cmhr foams. It’s built to withstand severe contract use – which is why it’s ideal in a secondary school environment. See more on the Hitch Mylius website.
