Now we all do it don’t we, we all use our chairs to hang our coats over the back of. So why not formalise the relationship by copying this idea over at Ikea Hacks. Different and rather cool looking I think.

I spotted this ages ago over at Yumalum on Esty, and now I have decorated my hallway I have brought a poster size version, mounted it in a Ikea frame and voila, looks ace.

I have been meaning to write about these since I mentioned the HM83, I am playing catch up. These are the Allermuir Pebble. A great product for a breakout or informal spaces. It’s not new, it’s been doing the rounds for years but in the right fabric is a great product.

Designed by Simon Pengelly the hm83 has proved to be very popular in public spaces.You’ll notice it in airports and the like, and I have installed in to schools! I’m actually installing this in to a school in Surrey during November, I’ll get some pictures!

It’s fundamentally a bench which can be used as stand-alone feature or linked together to form molecular, geometric arrangements. It looks cool.

It is constructed in pre-formed plywood on a steel under frame with stainless steel legs, and upholstered in cmhr foams. It’s built to withstand severe contract use – which is why it’s ideal in a secondary school environment. See more on the Hitch Mylius website.

Luckily, as part of the day job, I get to look at furniture all day long and design spaces with said furniture. My company is predominately education based, which means I get the opportunity to design creative and inspiring places for young people. I love it.

One product I have shown to a few clients is the Lobe by Mileau. Every client loves it – and two of the three are now having it in their school! It’s available as either a one, two  or three seat piece. You can get it in two heights, and your can pretty much choose any fabric you’d like on it! It works in polyester blends, but in my humble opinion looks a whole lot better in wool and wool blends.

It’s quite new on the market, but I suspect it wont be long before you start seeing this all over the place … like the Allermuir Pebbles and Hitch Mylius HM83. Both of which I will feature now I have mentioned them!

I have just stumbled across Kobi Levi, a talented shoe designer who has a fabulous portfolio.  I suggest you check out his blog. However, being the Chair Lover I am I just had to post about these Saarinen Tulip Chair shoes. I’m not sure how practical they are, but they certainly unique!
